Goulburn Valley Sri Lankan Musical Night was held in the evening of Sunday 11th of December 2016 at the African House which was organised by the Ethnic Council of Shepparton & District. Approximately 80 people gathered at St Paul’s African house to experience the richness of Sri Lankan Culture.

BAZm e Hazaragi features the new documentary by Steve Warne, Robyn Hughan and photojournalist Barat Ali Batoor that captures the workshops and first Omagh Celebrations in Australia supported by MAV in 2014. It shines light on Melbourne’s Hazara community and will be screened alongside live music by acclaimed Hazara musician Taqi Khan, poetry performances and a panel discussion with community members and filmmakers.
In order that we might know who we are as a community in Australia, and in the Goulburn Valley, and Greater Shepparton, we must first look to our past and understand how we as Australians co-existed as a homogenous community.

The city of Shepparton and its Goulburn Valley region in Victoria have a rich history of immigration. The Shepparton experience of diversity and social harmony was the basis for a unique Conference in 2007 organised by Latrobe University, the region's Ethnic Council and the Shepparton Interfaith Network. Encounter reports on the stories that emerged from this Conference.
