Live the life you please is a film-led social impact campaign that will change the way you think about the last chapter of life. There will be a screening in Shepparton as part of a national launch. On Tuesday 23rd of May, 6pm Shepparton Village Cinemas will be running a special Q&A event of the film that will feature local health experts who can discuss palliative care, ageing, aged care and related health services.
Imagine if we treated end of life the way we treated start of life.
If we celebrated with farewell showers, carefully crafted finishing up plans and coming together as a community. If it was about comfort, choice, independence, family, joy, love wellbeing.
In Australia, expecting mothers are well supported throughout their entire pregnancy. They have access to the word’s best care during the birthing process and their entire young family has access to ongoing support for years after the baby is born.
What if our health system was better set up to support all of us as we approached the end of our lives? If it gave us everything we needed during our last days to make that experience as “good” as possible, and supported our families after we pass away
Live the life you please, a new feature-length film that explores palliative care, aged care, home care and the last chapter of life – with a focus on stimulating positive social change around end of life care.
The film is about living and dying in Australia. It boasts a treasure trove of incredible stories captured all around the nation, from cities and regional centres to remote communities. Stories include people of all ages, different stages of disease and a variety of geographical locations, cultural, socio-economic and personal circumstances.
One of the key-outcomes of the film is the engagement in discussion about end of life. So, on Tuesday 23rd of May, 6pm Shepparton Village Cinemas will be running a special Q&A event of the film that will feature local health experts who can discuss palliative care, ageing, aged care and related health services.
