For TIBET with Love
Musical Offerings from the Mystical Land of Tibet featuring Tenzin Choegyal and Taro Terahara
Brisbane-based singer songwriter Tenzin Choegyal draws on his traditional Tibetan roots to create original compositions which uniquely express his cultural heritage. Tenzin is a master of the dranyen (long necked lute) and lingbu (bamboo flute) and is well-known for his extraordinary vocal ability. He is an outstanding composer/performer with a great depth of musical knowledge, intuition and inventiveness, who is held in high esteem by other performers from all genres.
Bansuri master Taro Terahara is a leading musician in the thriving and highly competitive Indian classical music scene in Japan. His music comfortably spans the full range from contemplative and soulful to exciting and rhythmic. Taro has proved his versatility in performances with Odissi dance, Arabic and Chinese music, jazz, etc, with fabulous results. In 2006 he enjoyed his first ever tour of Australia and has been a regular visitor to Australia ever since.
Together they create a unique musical experience which spans the range from contemplative and soulful to exciting and rhythmic.
