Community language collection expanded

Goulburn Valley Libraries has increased its collection of community languages to include some new languages as well as freshen up items in the current collection.

Around 500 new items have been purchased and most are about to hit the shelves at Shepparton Library.

A launch to celebrate the fresh new collection will be held on Monday 21 August 2017 at 4 pm at the Shepparton Library.

If you read Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Gujarati, Farsi or Chinese and are looking for either adult fiction and non fiction titles – then come along and check out the new books — they are all available to borrow.

The Library has not forgotten our younger members, with children’s items in Panjabi, Persian, Arabic, French, ltalian and Chinese available.
Everyone is welcome to attend and borrow from this wonderful fresh collection.

The launch will coincide with the English Conversation Group which meets each Monday afternoon from 4pm to 5pm. Community members meet and chat informally, improving their English language skills in a fun and engaging way.

Goulburn Valley Libraries values the diversity of cultures in our local communities and anticipate increased use of the language collection.
