Inventi Ensemble: Classical Music

St Paul's Lutheran Church invites you to a FREE recital at St Paul's Lutheran Church on 29 November at 2pm. The program will consist of Classical music for flute oboe and piano by French, English and Italian composers and including Rossini’s famous William Tell Overture.

St Paul's Lutheran Church are hosting the Inventi Ensemble for this event. Inventi are a trio of exciting young musicians (Peter de Jager - paino, Ben Opie - oboe and Melissa Doecke - flute) who are passionate about making music accessible to all. Between them they have an impressive depth of experience and will inspire music lovers with their talent. It will be a mixed program of music by Rossini (Highlights from William Tell), French composers Poulenc & Saint-Saens, and trios by Dring and Pucihar. They are passionate about Australian music and so will also include some Australian music by Ross Edwards and also a piece composed by their pianist Peter de Jager.

Inventi Ensemble:

Defying stereotypes, Inventi Ensemble are equally at home premiering works at a new music festival, performing in Australia’s finest concert halls and chamber music series, alongside playing Bach from a 3-tonne truck in a pop-up venue, and introducing new Australian music to young children in library storytime projects. Splashing onto the Australian music scene in early 2014, Inventi Ensemble is run by Artistic Directors Ben Opie (oboe) and Melissa Doecke (flute), drawing together Australia’s finest soloists and chamber musicians, passionate about performing and commissioning Australian music.

Internationally, Inventi musicians have performed at the BBC Proms, London’s Southbank, with San Francisco’s Ensemble Parrallel and Magik*Magik, as well as at music festivals in the UK, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Prague, Italy and the USA. In Australia, they have already performed as part of Melbourne Knowledge Week, Melbourne Music Week, Melbourne Children’s Week, the Alice Desert Festival in Alice Springs and a tour in South Australia. This is in addition to starting a monthly music series in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and running a weekly music programme at the Maribyrnong Detention Centre.
