Victorian Multicultural Commission and Very Reverend Dr Michael Protopopov OAM of the Orthodox Church give messages about celebrating Orthodox Christmas (7 January) safely, in the midst of non-local Covid-19 outbreak.
Together we mark Orthodox Christmas on the 7th of January. We wish all Orthodox communities in Victoria a very Merry Orthodox Christmas.
As special as it is – and as much as we have to celebrate – we also need to stay safe.
That means things like limiting visitors to 15 people, celebrating outside, wearing a mask while attending a Christmas service – all of these remain important to keeping our community safe.
We know it’s difficult to be apart from our communities on these important days, but we must keep ourselves and our loved ones safe from coronavirus (COVID-19).
This email includes links to in-language materials for you to share this important information with your networks and a special message from the Very Reverend Dr Michael Protopopov.
The Victorian Government has also announced exposure sites in Victoria. If you have visited any of these locations during the times listed, you must get tested even if you have no symptoms and isolate until you get a negative result.
See the list of exposure sites and stay up to date at www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/case-locations-and-outbreaks.
