They say to give your heart to the Lord, but there is another higher power involved in the heart health of Shepparton’s Greek Orthodox Church, thanks to the National Australia Bank.
“Many of our members are ageing and having a defibrillator is very reassuring in the event that we need it, which is hopefully not too often!” church member George Themilis said.
“Without the donation from NAB it would have been very difficult to purchase this equipment, and we are very grateful.”
NAB managing partner Dave Davies said the bank was proud to support the community, both on large and small projects.
“The church came to us with this idea and it is clear that this defibrillator will have a positive and potentially lifesaving effect,” he said.
“Many people see the big-time sponsorship that NAB are a part of, but smaller, local projects are just as important to us and it is very rewarding to be able to do this for our community.”
