Shepparton Uniting Church will celebrate the opening of its new Worship Building on Sunday, 4 February 2018. The opening worship will begin at the church on the corner of Corio St and Fryers St, Shepparton, at 4 pm, followed by light refreshments at 6 pm.
This weekend, the church will be officially opened during a worship hosted by Uniting Church leader Rev Sharon Hollis.
Congregation and planning group chair Joan McRae said the redevelopment would help the congregation living out a vision to be a church that loved God and was faithful to Christ in worship, community life, and in serving the wider community.
The construction will would help to accomplish this by providing 21 century flexible spaces for a range of activities into the future.
“The build started in April 18 (last year) and the official opening and worship will be this Sunday at 4 pm,’ Mrs McRae said.
A new octagonal space has linked the present church and hall under one roof, enabling a natural flow from worship, ministry and general life.
