UN World Day of Tolerance, 2016


United Nations World day of Tolerance is observed annually on 16 November. The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District in collaboration with Shepparton Interfaith Network will be observing the World Day of Tolerance at the Senior Citizens Centre on Thursday, 17 November 2016..



Tolerance Day

The International Day for Tolerance is an annual observance declared by UNESCO in 1995 to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. It is observed on 16 November, each year.

In 2014 and 2015, the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District partnered with the Shepparton Interfaith Network along with several schools and community organisations and provided a celebration of UN Day of Tolerance at SPC Ardmona Kidstown for schools and the local community. On Friday 16 November 2014, approximately 250 people attended the celebration of International Tolerance Day. In 2016, on Thursday 17 November, there will be a celebration of World Day of Tolerance at the Senior Citzens Centre, 132 Welsford St, Shepparton VIC 3630 from 10:00 am.
