Much has happened around the world in recent weeks. Paris, Lebanon, Punjab, Africa. The media is filled with news that is not peaceful. In response, Shepparton Interfaith Network, in collaboration with community stakeholders, is collaborating to provide a Picnic for Peace at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton on Sunday 29 November from 5PM.

Reflections on Dungala Kaiela Oration 2015

NAIDOC Week for 2015 was celebrated with enthusiasm and energy in Shepparton and surrounds. On Monday, there was a breakfast and launch of Naidoc Week with a flag raising, attended by many community leaders. There was a tour of the Mooroopna Flats on Monday afternoon, the Dungala Kaiela Oration on Wednesday, followed by the Algabonyha Roundtable on Thursday. St Brendan’s Day

Each year, the 15th of May marks the Feast of St Brendan in the Christian Church. St Brendan’s Day will be celebrated at St Brendan’s Church, 121 Knight St, Shepparton, at the 11AM Mass service. Vesak Celebrations at Queens Park, Shepparton

A large crowd assembled at Queens Park on Sunday 3 May to celebrate Vesak Day with prayers, hanging of lanterns and talks. Vesak Day marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha; it is the most important day in the Buddhist calendar of events.
