DHARAMSHALA, Dec 5: A well-known and young Tibetan Buddhist leader Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche represented the Buddhist community at the All-Religion Interfaith Conference held in Vatican City from November 29 to 30. During the conference, Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche had a personal audience with Pope Francis where he presented a book authored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The conference, a centenary celebration of the first ‘All Religions’ Conference’, originally organized by the spiritual leader and social reformer late Sree Narayana Guru in 1924, was held under the theme ‘Religions Together for a Better Humanity’. Organized by the Sri Narayana Sanghom Trust and supported by the Vatican’s Dicastery for Inter-Religious Dialogue, the event brought together religious leaders, dignitaries, and scholars from diverse faiths worldwide.
Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche delivered a speech during the conference, highlighting the importance of religious unity in addressing pressing global issues, including environmental protection and animal welfare. He called for collaborative efforts to empower the younger generation with values of peace, dialogue, and inclusion, stressing the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Rinpoche stated, “Every religious tradition holds at its heart the values of compassion, peace, and service. Together, we can build a world where diversity is not a threat but a gift.”
Rinpoche further emphasized the shared values of compassion, peace, and service across all religions. Highlighting the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, he stated, “Faith and religious traditions are like medicines. No one medicine cures all illnesses, just as no one religion addresses all mental dispositions. But together, we can create harmony and heal the world’s challenges.”
The conference, presided over by Pope Francis, aimed to foster dialogue and cooperation among different religious traditions to address global challenges. In his keynote address, Pope Francis emphasized the need for religious communities to implement their noble teachings, transcending ethnic and cultural differences to build harmony and understanding.
