The month of Ramadan is the ninth month of the islamic Calendar and observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammed (sav). For Muslims, Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. This annual observance is regarded as one of the five pillars of Islam. Every day during Ramadan Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, fasting requires the abstinence from food and drink. It is a common practice while breaking fast to share a meal with community members, friends and extended family etc.

The month of Ramadan is a significant time for the Islamic community and a great opportunity to share our traditions, a meal and demonstrate our solidarity, unity and collaboration.
