Homework Help: Aboriginal Children

Mercy Access provides homework help for Aboriginal children in Shepparton and Wodonga – places where indigenous children attend school. This program has got off to a flying start and there is a call for volunteers.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Mercy Access, part of Mercy Works and under the auspices of the Sisters of Mercy, provides assistance to Aboriginal children in schools in Shepparton, Mooroopna and Wodonga.

We invite volunteers to assist in this In-School Programme or/and Gowola Homework Club Programme.

Our work really depends on the number of volunteers available to us so they are so important to the growth and continuance of our efforts to mentor and tutor Aboriginal children and youth in a Homework Club and in the schools. Anyone interested in education, not necessarily a teacher but someone who would be comfortable assisting children with their studies. We are also available to give short presentations about Mercy Access.

Starting in Term 4, 2018.
Hopefully volunteers would have had previous experience or some interest in the field of education.

Working With Children Card required and available through the WWC Victoria website
http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

Indications of interest would be welcome immediately
