3rd Nelson Mandela Lecture, Shepparton

Every year on 18 July — the day Nelson Mandela was born — the UN asks individuals around the world to mark Nelson Mandela International Day (18 July) by making a difference in their communities. In 2018, the 3rd Nelson Mandela Lecture, Shepparton will be delivered by former Premier Ted Ballieu, at the Latrobe University Campus.

For 67 years Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the service of humanity — as a human rights lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, an international peacemaker and the first democratically elected president of a free South Africa.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation is dedicating this year’s Mandela Day to Action Against Poverty, honouring Nelson Mandela’s leadership and devotion to fighting poverty and promoting social justice for all. We are all asked to “Be the Legacy”.
